Zackery was born on May 14, 1992 in Toledo, Ohio and passed away on June 3, 2002. He loved his dogs, Cloie and Smokey. Every night no matter how hard I tried to keep them outside Zackery snuck them in to sleep with him. One night they were taking up to much room in his bed so he decided to sleep on the floor next to them so not to wake them?

Zackery got tired easily but he still loved riding his bike and having the dogs chase behind.

Zackery loved his older brother. They loved to build forts and bike ramps and what ever else they could think of from one day to the next. Sorry to say John was not a sibling match when we took our HLA test.

When it all Started

Zackery was a very brave little boy. When he was 7 1/2 I took him to the doctors because of bruising. They ran blood test and all of his counts were low. The primary care doctor sent us to a Hematologist they ran several more blood test and nothing. Every month or so we had his counts checked and they varied some but still no dx.

In June of 2001 his leg swelled from groin to toes (doubled in size) Primary Lymphedema (not related to dx). No reason just happened. He was in the hospital for 8 days and still no answers. After several more doctors we finally had a dx.

On Aug 22.2001 he was diagnosed with Myelodysplasic Syndrome with Monosomy 7. Zackery needed and received a Bone Marrow Transplant.

Zackery passed away on Monday, June 03, 2002 at 06:32 AM (CDT).

This is by far the hardest entry to type. Our little boy left us this morning.

There will be no funeral. Mourn how you will for my son, I just dont have the stength to have a service for him.

Not out of lack of respect, no one could love a son more. We dressed him this morning in a Kidrock t-shirt and we put a medal around his neck that said super kid.

I want to believe he is with his dogs running and playing in big grassy field.
