Jason Snyder
Became an "Angel" on June 30, 2004

Jason was born on May 18, 1981 in Flint Michigan and past away June 30, 2004. He was our only child and we were very happy. He grew and we were told he was going to be smart and tall and handsome. Everything was going as the doctors had told us.
SADLY I have to say JASON past away June 30th, 2004 at 9:00 am in Childrens Hospital of Michigan. We have lost a fighter and we will never forget him. May GOD bless and keep him. Living in hope for tomorrow.
Yours with love
Chuck Joann and JASON
MAY GOD BLESS OUR CHILDREN MAY GOD BLESS THE U. S. A.
On the 23rd of December 1988 his life changed forever. On that fateful day our life changed for ever as well. Jason was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. The word the doctor used medulloblastoma to this day I have hard time saying it. The whole family was at a lose for words. We know that he needed all the support that we could give him. The next day, December 24th, 1988 (Christmas eve day) he was admitted to childrens hospital of Michigan. Surgery was performed on the 28th.
After 7 hours of surgery the doctor told us that he had removed 90% of the turmor. We were relieved BUT what about the other 10%. They told us they still needed to test him to determine if there was cancer still in his body. When they took him to the ICU Jason was screaming and they did not know what the problem was. The only thing they could do was to put him into a medically induced coma so he could heal. So for the next two months he got everything IV. Then for the next two months his mother and I cared for him and watched his progress.
There were lots of highs and lows, then we were informed that more cancer cells were present. They started radiation therapy, as he got better they moved him to therapy. Then another disaster his ability to fight off germs was very low. He got the flu and was moved back to the med. floor. The next two weeks were hard on all of us. Then good news he had improved and was going back to rehab therapy.
After surgery they told us he was as a new born child. That meant his rehab would be total, he had to learn to walk, talk, and feed himself he was in diapers that is when we learned that some where in all this he had suffered a stroke. That explained a lot of things. That meant we worked harder his mother stayed at the hospital with him and I came down when they needed me and on weekends. Then things got so good that they let us take him home on weekends. This allowed us the chance to let him know that his home was still there. Finally the day we all worked for, we were going home!!!!!
After 5 months and two days in the hospital celebrating Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, St. Patricks Day, Easter and his 8th birthday we were home as a FAMILY. Then things got better in October of 1989 a trip to DISNEY. As 1989 ended things were looking good. Then came 1990 my health started going down asthma, then as if things could not get worse Jason started having seizures. They did more tests found what they said was another tumor. On August 27, 1990 they declared him terminal and gave him 2 to 6 weeks to live. This slowed us down for about two days, then we got to work on him. They started chemo and it was in and out of the hospital for months he got so sick they had to stop. Then after that we were on pins and needles he would have good days and bad ones.
On November 7, 1993 he started having seizures so back to the hospital again. After two months in the hospital and another stroke we returned home again, things got better. Then on Easter of 1994 he had more seizures and his third stroke He was in hospital for four months. The answer was blood clots surfaced. After that there were good years and bad years three broken legs many shunt revisions his fourth stroke.
