When It All Started
Kristin had her first heart surgery when she was 5 for a ASD every year after that she would be in the hospital many many times for different thing's 36 times in one year for a example. We were told she had everything from diabetes to C. F and sleep apnea plus many other things. We were told there was nothing wrong with Kristin that we were all crazy to put it nicely. Then Ten years later while she was in the hospital we got to meet a new doctor (Ben) to make a long story short he found out that Kristin has Scimitar Syndrome. They only know of Four Children in the USA that has it. So off to Cleveland Hospital we went to see Dr. Mee and on March 11 2005 he did a transplant of her Scimitar vein into her right artery so her blood can drain properly. She does have a blockage in the transplanted vein but we are taking it one day at a time.
