When It All Started
She was a healthy kid and perfectly normal in all her activities. Last month i.e during last week of February all of the sudden she developed some unusual symptoms like gazing down, less alertness etc. When we took her to Pediatrician he told it would be alright and not a reason to worry. But when she didn't improve even after 2 days we again took her to the same doctor and he asked us to refer one more neonatalagist. She found her head had a little swelling and asked us to get an MRI done. To our horror they found a tumor in the 4th ventricle. We immediately shifted her to another hospital and over there the tumor was surgically operated and removed. By the grace of God she did very well after the surgery and it brought a smile on all our faces. Before we had a sigh of relief, 4 days after the surgery she again started gazing down and when we took her to the doctor they told the CFS fluid of the brain was again getting blocked and the pressure in the head had started developing. So they again inserted an Shunt from the head to abdomen. The more worst news was when the tumor result arrived. It was the most malignant tumor of all, MEDULLOBLASTOMA. We were all devastated to see our daughter suffering during the insertion of I V Lines and seeing tears rolling from her eyes and her consistent screams. Being a mother I am totally broken to see my daughter suffering the pain of surgery and pricks for almost a month when she had to actually sleep and play in my arms taking the feeds happily.
